![]() I know there's a kazillion problems to be solved for almost anything steam and steam games related, by browsing the various forums, but been there, done that, and some things I am perhaps not comfortable with and would like a professional's opinion on. now when I click that, it just goes back to the main support page, in effect just being a looping self-help solution with no means to get in touch with a proper tech support representative, or so it seems, I might be wrong.Īm I missing something, or is this just the new and improved 'just figure it out yourself' method of supplying us with the help we deserve for being loyal customers? wasn't that last one supposed to be the button to get proper help from one of their own tech support employees? If I go to the support section, it'll have all the categories, so I pick steam client, and then the server login problems option, and well, you get a little bit of info and the troubleshooting, all of which I've looked at, done and failed.Īnd then you have 3 more options documentation, community help (right here), and the 'help me with my issue' button. Okay maybe I am being very very stupid and am overlooking something, but how does one actually open a proper support ticket on the steam website these days? ![]() Steam, give me back my access to my games please! ) I'd open a ticket but I fear I'd only get a standardized answer pointing me to the things that I've already tried without succes, after which they simply don't know either and fall silent. If it's not something that I have done wrong, which looks to be the case, then it's quite unacceptable that all my games, that I paid good money for, are just not accessible. I hope if this is a bad update or patch that it's going to be set right quickly, because reading that other topic, one that is years old might I add, it seems that folks have been dealing with it on and off for a long time, and for long periods át a time. But I do appreciate your headsup a lot! thanks!! Also there's lots of things in that thread indeed, and I've tried most, and some would just not be relevant anyway, logically. Unfortunately, the TCP/IP reset thing didn't work for me, I had seen that and tried. If this particular method doesn't work for you, you may want to read the whole thread, which is very likely to contain the solution you're looking for. ![]() FOUND SOLUTION HERE!, post #27 is THE FIX of my problem. Nothing has changed on my machine, I have seen no major updates of any kind on anything either, it just suddenly started doing this in the last 2 days. At first I thought it might just be me, but to see this same problem described here makes me think again, so I also would appreciate some help. At first I could at least still use steam offline, but now when I click that, it will briefly show the little update popup but then it just shuts down and does nothing. ![]() Originally posted by |DD| Mad_Fred:I have the exact same problem, tried everything I could possibly find, and no luck. I found the solution, and if anyone encounters a similar problem pls read post #2 XD Plus my desktop doesn't have any antivirus app or something like that installed, so the problem is also unlikely to be caused by interference with other programs. Server may be offline or you may not be connected to the internet."īut I'm able to login to Steam through the client on my laptop, which uses the same router so I think the problem is not on any complicated port or firewall settings of my router. If I click "I can't sign in.", a window pops up showing "Error Code: -105 Unable to connect server. If I click "Retry Connection" in the warning window, the login window just freezes and I can only click "Cancel" to close it. When I try to login, a warning window pops up showing "Steam is having trouble connecting to the Steam servers." However, I do get an email telling me a new computer is trying to access my account and showing me the Steam Guard code every time I try to login. Now I cannot even login or play games in offline mode after deleting those files because I was logged out and Steam thinks my desktop to be a new computer. Tried deleting all files in the steam folder except steamapps and steam.exe and letting steam redownload everything, didn't work and even messed me up. Tried bringing down the security settings of Internet Explorer to low, didn't work. Tried running Steam as admin, didn't work. I tried adding -tcp at the end of the destination of a steam shortcut, didn't work. I have been unable to go online on the Steam client on my desktop for 2 or 3 days, but I was able to play games in offline mode until I tried to fix this issue.
